notes Dead Poets Society 2nd Half

  • when in the court yard it shows how easily you fall in to conformity
  •  Charlie publishes something in the new paper on behalf of the dead poets society which angers the group
  • Charlie gets beat for his article but doesn't turn in the group
  • the principal wants Mr. Keating to teach them to conform and not think for themselves
  • Neil's Father is more angry that he made a liar out of him then anything and demands he quit the play
  • Neil asks Mr. Keating what he should do about his father and he says talk to him. he says he dose and it went well.
  • Mr.Keating and the Other boys go to support Neil in the play and his dad shows up clearly not happy
  • Neil try's to stand up to his father but looses his confidence
  • Neil kills himself and his parents are devastated
  • The Boys don't know what to do. they are heart broken and sickened by Neil's death Todd is affected the worst
  • Mr. Keating is crushed and extremely saddened by Neil's death
  • Cameron tells on the D.P.S. and says that Mr. Keating is the one to blame causing Charlie to punch him in the face
  • All the boys are questioned at length with the parents. Charlie is expelled
  • Todd tries to talk to Mr. Keating and explain that they were forced and then stands on the desk
  • Most of the rest of the boys follow saying "oh captain, my captain" showing there respect to Mr. Keating when he leaves.
